An 11-year-old girl was taken to hospital after allegedly being attacked by fellow pupils at a school in Nicosia, in an incident reported by her parents to the authorities.
According to the complaint, four classmates were involved in the latest attack, restraining the girl while several pupils struck her at the same time. The incident ended after other female students stepped in and stopped the assault.
Medical examinations revealed blood in the girl's urine, bruising, visible marks from blows to her body and a concussion. She received medical treatment before being discharged from hospital.
The incident is reportedly the second assault involving the same child within a 15-day period. In the earlier incident, three classmates were accused of beating her.
The girl's father said the school administration had previously described the incident as an "unfortunate occurrence" and regarded his daughter's reaction as exaggerated.
The latest complaint has prompted an investigation by the authorities.
