Expect 41°C in inland areas

The Meteorology Department has issued a yellow warning for exceptionally high temperatures, in effect since yesterday at 9:00 PM and lasting until 6:00 PM today.

According to the warning, temperatures are expected to soar to around 41 degrees Celsius in inland areas and reach approximately 33 degrees Celsius in higher mountainous regions.

The region is currently experiencing a combination of seasonal low pressure and warm air masses, influencing the weather conditions.

Today, the weather will predominantly be sunny and hot. Initially, the winds will be variable and weak, blowing at around 3 on the Beaufort scale. By the afternoon, they will shift from mainly southwest to northwest, remaining weak to moderate with a speed of 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale. The sea is expected to be mildly unsettled. Temperature-wise, it will climb to 41 degrees in inland areas, around 37 degrees in the eastern, southern, and northern coastal areas, and approximately 33 degrees on the western coast and in higher mountainous regions.

In the evening, the weather will remain mostly clear. The winds will gradually shift northwest to northeast and southeast along the northern coastal areas, blowing weakly at 3 on the Beaufort scale. The sea will be calm, occasionally slightly unsettled. Temperatures will drop to 26 degrees in inland areas, around 25 degrees on the coast, and 20 degrees in higher mountainous regions.

Looking ahead, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will bring predominantly sunny weather. Temperatures will remain stable on Thursday and Friday, with a slight increase expected on Saturday, surpassing the average climate norms.
