As Mr. Nicolaides stated, the prolonged extreme temperatures of the past few days indicate that they are here to stay. Regarding the weekend, he mentioned that from Sunday until Tuesday, there will be a gradual increase in temperature, reaching 43 to 44 degrees Celsius.
Seasonal low-pressure systems, combined with warm air masses, will affect the region.
Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear. There is a possibility of some thin fog and low clouds, mainly in the southeast coastal areas during the early hours. The winds will gradually become mainly from the northwest to the northeast, and weak, blowing at about 3 on the Beaufort scale. The sea will be calm to slightly disturbed. The temperature will drop to around 23 degrees Celsius inland and along the coast, and around 20 degrees Celsius in higher mountain areas.
Tomorrow, the weather will remain clear and warm. The winds will initially be from the southeast to the southwest, weak at about 3 on the Beaufort scale, and later becoming mainly from the southwest to the northwest, weak to moderate, at about 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale. Locally, in the south, winds will be moderate to strong, around 4 to 5 on the Beaufort scale. The sea will be slightly disturbed. The temperature will rise to about 41 degrees Celsius inland, around 37 degrees Celsius in the east and south coasts, around 33 degrees Celsius in the west and north coasts, and 32 degrees Celsius in higher mountain areas.
