A driver was rescued from a ravine approximately 10 meters deep on the Nicosia–Palaichori road after their vehicle veered off course, authorities said.
Firefighters from the Lakatamia Fire Station and Palaichori Rural Fire Station responded to a call from the police at 11:28 a.m. The rescue team used specialized equipment to free the conscious driver, who was then secured on a stabilization stretcher and handed over to ambulance personnel for transport to the Emergency Department at Nicosia General Hospital.
Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident.
