Yesterday, at the Limassol District Court, charges were filed against four individuals linked to a recent incident of violence within stadiums.

The accused, aged 39, 28, 26, and 21, were apprehended following disturbances that marred the football match between Apollon and AEL on January 24, 2024.

The court has scheduled the trial to commence on May 13, 2024. As part of the interim measures, the defendants have been instructed to provide a personal bond of 10 thousand euros and to report weekly to a designated Police Station until the trial concludes.

Additionally, a prohibition order has been issued barring the accused from attending any sports venues pending the resolution of the case.

The legal actions underscore the seriousness with which authorities are addressing incidents of violence and disorder within sporting arenas, emphasizing the importance of maintaining safety and civility in such environments.
