Free rapid self tests available at pharmacies from today (How-to video)

The Ministry of Health has announced that the distribution of free self-tests from Pharmacies has begun.  Citizens can now receive a package of five self-tests each month and are encouraged to test regularly in order to protect both themselves and their loved ones.

Beneficiaries are citizens under the GESY program who have completed their vaccination course with two doses for the double-dose vaccine, and one dose for the single-dose vaccine or those who have already received the booster/3rd dose.

a) Beneficiaries of GESY can pick up self-tests from pharmacies contracted under the GESY program by presenting proof of identification.

1. The package includes five self-tests.  This will allow people to perform the test voluntarily to determine if they are positive for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
2. In case of a positive result, citizens should contact their Personal Doctor, in order to refer them for a PCR examination at the Public Health Clinic in their province of residence.

b) Citizens who are not under the GESY program but have completed their vaccination course with two doses for the double-dose vaccine, and one dose for the single-dose vaccine or those who have already received the booster/3rd dose can pick up the free tests from the following points from 10:30 a.m. to 13:00 p.m. daily.

In case of a positive result, these citizens should contact the Public Health Clinic Coordination Center via email by sending their name, surname, telephone, ID number, date of birth and province, as well as a photo of your positive self-test to coordination.iatreiadygeias@moh.gov.cy.
