Friday is picking up right where Thursday left off. The seasonal low-pressure system isn't going anywhere, keeping summer heat firmly entrenched across the island as we head into the weekend.

The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued Yellow Warning No. 41, valid today from 14:00 to 16:30. As we've come to expect, safety is paramount, at least for those precise 2 hours and 30 minutes, as inland highs touch 40°C.

Here is how the thermometer breaks down across the region today:

Inland: Reaches 40°C under clear skies, with the warning active through mid-afternoon.

West & southwest coasts: The most tolerable shoreline stretch at 33°C.

Remaining coastlines: Holding steady around 36°C.

Higher mountains: Tops out at 30°C, though localized afternoon clouds will build over the peaks.

Mornings start with light, variable breezes at Force 3 before turning southwesterly to northwesterly at a light-to-moderate Force 3 to 4. The sea remains calm to slight overall, developing a slight chop along southwestern beaches later in the day.

Skies stay mostly clear through the evening and overnight hours. Winds will settle back to a light, variable Force 3, while marine conditions return to calm-to-slight across all coastal sectors.

Saturday, Sunday, and Monday: Uninterrupted sunshine continues with zero major weather shake-ups on the schedule. Highs will remain steady and slightly above seasonal averages straight through the start of next week.
