Police probe break-in at goldsmith shop, suspects at large

Early Thursday morning, a break-in occurred at a goldsmith shop in Paphos, with the perpetrators making off with the valuables in suitcases before fleeing the scene.

According to the Police, they received information regarding a burglary at a goldsmith shop on Archbishop Makarios Avenue in Paphos. Specifically, at 1:45 in the early hours, the owner of the goldsmith shop received a notification on his mobile phone indicating that the alarm installed in his store, located in the commercial center of Paphos, had been triggered due to a break-in. Immediately, he notified the Police, who promptly arrived at the scene.

The alleged perpetrators, reportedly three in number according to preliminary investigations, are said to have entered the jewelry store and seized nearly all the gold items it contained, placing them in suitcases before making their escape.
