In response to Cyprus' request for assistance through the European Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM), Greece swiftly dispatched humanitarian aid to bolster the island nation's preparedness for potential increased refugee inflows originating from the Middle East.
According to amna.gr, the announcement, made by Greece's climate crisis and civil protection ministry, revealed the dispatch of 200 tents and 800 sleeping bags to Cyprus. The materials, designated for refugee accommodation, were formally handed over to a Cypriot delegation at an event held at the port of Limassol, attended by the Greek Ambassador to Cyprus, Ioannis Papameletiou.
