The Health Ministry announced 420 coronavirus cases on Tuesday, when 34,799 tests were conducted, marking a positivity rate of 1.21%.
Total coronavirus cases reached 37,650. No coronavirus fatalities were recorded, with the death toll remaining steady at 233.
95 of the new cases were primary contacts, five were airport arrivals, 82 were people who took the initiative to get tested, 16 were tested at a general hospital, while 10 were tested via rapid test at private labs.
Among new cases, 212 involved people who tested positive to a rapid test. A majority of 131 were detected in Limassol after 8,413 tests were conducted, followed by Nicosia where 48 people tested positive after 10,704 tests, while 16 tested positive in Larnaca, and 14 in Paphos. Two more tested positive at the Ergates industrial area, while one more was detected among the National Guard.
Cyprus hospitals are currently treating 154 coronavirus patients, of which 29 are in critical condition.
69 patients are in the Famagusta general hospital, three of which are in the ICU. The Nicosia general hospital is also treating 33 patients, 19 of which are in the ICU. 48 more coronavirus patients are at the Limassol general hospital where seven are in the ICU, while four are at the Makarios hospital in Nicosia.
Meanwhile, 27 new cases were also detected in the north after 7,092 tests were conducted, raising total cases detected to 3,664.
