As the faithful begin preparations for Easter, the weather is keeping pace with the spirit of the season, gentle and calm. A mild high-pressure system is setting the tone, bringing mostly clear skies and a touch of serenity.
Today, expect plenty of sunshine across the island. Winds will start off from the northeast to southeast at a light breeze, 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale, and will shift to a more southwesterly to northwesterly direction in the afternoon, keeping the same gentle pace. The sea will be just a little choppy, perfect for a quiet walk along the shore.
Temperatures will climb to a toasty 29°C inland, ideal for those last-minute Easter errands, while coastal areas will feel cooler: around 24°C on the west coast and 26°C elsewhere. Up in the mountains, it’ll be a fresher 19°C.
Tonight, the sky stays clear, a peaceful backdrop for Holy Thursday vigils. Winds will ease to a light northwesterly to northeasterly flow, and the sea will settle to calm or just slightly rough. Overnight temperatures will dip to around 14°C inland and along the coast and a crisp 10°C in the mountains.
Looking ahead to Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday, sunshine continues to grace the island, though you might notice a bit of light dust in the air from time to time. Temperatures will rise slightly on Friday, higher than usual for the season, before dipping again over the weekend, though they'll still stay above average.
A gentle, warm Easter weekend awaits.
