Three ships carrying humanitarian aid for Gaza civilians, part of the "Amalthea" initiative, have returned to Cyprus following Israeli bombardments that claimed the lives of seven members of the NGO World Central Kitchen involved in the effort.

The Open Arms ship initially docked at Larnaca Port at 17:20 local time yesterday. The Jennifer ship is currently anchored in Larnaca, while the Ledra Dynamic ship, towing the MMS ARIS platform, arrived at Limassol Port around 10 p.m. local time.

According to government sources, the ships Jennifer, Open Arms, Ledra Dynamic, and the MMS ARIS platform began their return journey to Larnaca Port with 240 tons of food out of the 332 tons initially planned for distribution.

These ships departed Larnaca Port on March 30 for Gaza, which has been ravaged by conflict.

The return to Cyprus follows the tragic deaths of seven World Central Kitchen members during Israeli bombardments on April 1.
