A total of 23 proposals from start-up businesses in Cyprus, Israel, Greece, and the United Kingdom are participating in the Alpha Stage of the Digital Agenda Cyprus Summit.
Following the completion of the initial evaluation by the review committee of the 23 applications in DAAS-AI, Kyriakos Kokkinos, the head of the organizing committee of the Digital Agenda Alpha Stage Artificial Intelligence competitions (DAAS-AΙ), stated, "We are particularly satisfied with both the number of entries and the quality of the proposals. I am pleased to announce that in the final presentation stage, five proposals from three different countries will be invited: Israel (2), Cyprus (2), and the UK. This demonstrates both the international impact of the conference and the prospect of Cyprus establishing itself as an emerging regional hub for start-up entrepreneurship."
It is worth noting that DAAS-AI invited fledgling businesses with technological readiness levels (TRL) 3-5 in the fields of Tourism, SMEs, Education, and Well-being. The proposal selected as the best will be awarded a prize of €10,000. The members of the evaluation committee are esteemed professionals in the field with international experience: Demetrios Zoppos, co-founder of 33 East; Itai Green, founder and CEO of Innovate Israel; Katerina Pramatari, founding partner of UNIFUND; Melina Mai, Technology Investment associate at BIG PI Ventures; Yiannis Efthimiou, co-founder of 33 East.
DAAS-AΙ is presented by TechIsland, the alliance of technology companies promoting Cyprus as a regional hub for Technology and Innovative Entrepreneurship. Supported by Invest Cyprus and IDEK.
