Two people were arrested after police discovered cocaine hidden inside a piece of furniture during a drug raid at a Larnaca residence, authorities said.
Officers with the Drug Law Enforcement Unit’s Larnaca branch executed a court-issued search warrant Thursday afternoon as part of an ongoing operation targeting illegal drug trafficking.
The search was conducted in the presence of the home's 29-year-old male resident and a 27-year-old woman, police said.
Authorities said they found approximately 333 grams of cocaine concealed in a hidden compartment at the base of a bathroom bedroom fixture. They also seized €6,670 in cash, about 1.8 grams of cannabis, a precision scale, a pair of scissors with traces of a white substance, and a grinder containing cannabis residue.
The man and woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug offenses and remain in custody as the investigation continues.
