Larnakos Avenue turned into a silent stage late Tuesday night as investigators meticulously recreated the horrific July 29 crash that claimed the life of 20-year-old Kyriakos Antoniou of Agios Dometios.

The usually busy stretch, from the “Maro” kiosk to the Panepistimiou roundabout, was closed in both directions at around 10 p.m., giving police space to piece together the chain of events that led to the young man’s death.

It was the second reenactment in less than a week. An earlier one, held on July 31, left key questions unanswered, prompting authorities to run the scene again. Investigators say last night’s findings will play a decisive role in how the case moves forward.

The 24-year-old driver of the second vehicle involved has not been arrested.

Under the glare of streetlights, the two cars were brought into position exactly as they were on the night of the crash. Officers took careful measurements, including the distances between vehicles, to determine whether the drivers could have seen each other before impact.

High-ranking traffic police, forensic teams and officers stood alongside onlookers, some watching in silence, others filming on their phones. A drone hovered overhead, capturing every angle for the case file.

The scene was eerily still, a stark contrast to the chaos of that deadly night, as authorities worked to reconstruct every second of the collision.

Police have yet to announce when they expect to complete their investigation. But for Antoniou’s family, the search for answers continues, with last night’s reenactment bringing them one step closer to understanding how a routine drive turned fatal.
