DISY MP Kyriakos Hatzigiannis and Ecologists MP Stavros Papadouris sharply criticized the government's green taxation plans in interviews with "SPOR FM 95.0" and "DIASPORA News." They labeled the measures as "stupid" and "immoral," accusing the government of lacking ethics and resorting to threats reminiscent of a mini-memorandum.

Hatzigiannis emphasized the necessity of a fair tax system to maintain economic competitiveness and productivity. He argued against unfair waste management practices and criticized the government's proposal to impose fuel taxes, labeling it as illogical and morally wrong. He stressed the need for fiscal neutrality in green taxation and called for a comprehensive savings program to address the state's wasteful spending habits.

Papadouris echoed Hatzigiannis' sentiments, criticizing the government for burdening consumers with additional taxes instead of fulfilling its obligations to meet environmental targets. He condemned the government's reliance on punitive fines and taxes and advocated for reduced VAT rates on solar batteries as a more favorable solution for citizens.
