Limassol braces for migration protests

Tensions rise as protests erupt over migration policies

Newsroom

Law enforcement authorities are on high alert as planned protest events regarding the migration issue are scheduled for today and tomorrow in Limassol. This comes in the aftermath of recent events in Chloraka.

According to police sources, a comprehensive special action plan has been formulated for these events to ensure their smooth progression and prevent any untoward incidents.

Tonight's demonstration, set for 8:00 PM at Molos, is expected to draw citizens from various groups, all united in their stance on the migration issue.

Authorities are currently investigating reports of organized groups' participation, and they are taking requisite precautions.

Simultaneously, an event is slated for Saturday evening at 7:00 PM in the Enaerio area. According to social media posts, it is described as a "march against fascist massacres".

These forthcoming marches have put the police on high alert to prevent any disruptions akin to those experienced in previous days.
