A 44-year-old coach has been sentenced to prison by the Limassol Permanent Criminal Court after being found guilty of sexual offenses involving two minors aged 16 and 17.

The court imposed concurrent prison sentences of four and three years.

The man was found guilty of two counts of accessing child sexual abuse material, two counts of sexual exploitation of minors, and one count of child molestation for sexual purposes.

Online exchanges and payment claims

According to court findings, the offenses took place between February and April 2025 and again in June 2025 through online messaging applications.

The defendant admitted to requesting and receiving sexual images and videos from the minors in exchange for money, and sending explicit material in return.

He also admitted suggesting a meeting with one of the minors for sexual activity in exchange for €150.

Court proceedings

The defendant initially denied all charges but later changed his plea during the hearing after prosecution witnesses testified.

The court noted the seriousness of the offenses and stressed that sentencing in such cases must be strict and deterrent.

Sentencing and restrictions

The court imposed concurrent sentences of four years for offenses related to child sexual abuse material and three years for sexual exploitation charges.

It also imposed restrictions after release, banning him for three years from working with children or being in environments where children are present and from living near such places.

He will also remain under supervision for three years after his release.
