Love is in the air… and so is a bit of a chill!

Flirty high clouds, cozy temperatures, and a touch of frost—Cupid’s got a cool but charming day in store!

Newsroom

Cupid may be out spreading the love today, but the weather is keeping things refreshingly cool. A weak high-pressure system is in charge, meaning we’re in for a mostly clear day with some flirty high clouds drifting through now and then. Think of them as nature’s love notes in the sky.

Winds will be playing it coy, coming in from the southwest to northwest at a light-to-moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea is mostly calm—perfect for a romantic seaside stroll—though the north and west might see some early morning mood swings with slightly choppier waters.

Temperatures are keeping things cool but not cold-hearted: Expect highs of around 16°C inland and along the coast, and 8°C in the higher mountains—so maybe keep that cozy sweater handy for your evening date.

Tonight’s forecast? Candlelit skies! Mostly clear with gentle northwest-to-northeast winds at 3 Beaufort. But lovebirds, beware—the temperature is set to drop. We’re talking 2°C inland, 6°C on the coast, and a frosty -1°C in the mountains, where frost will form in many areas. So, if you’re planning a moonlit mountain getaway, you might want to cuddle up!

The weekend brings a mix of moods: Saturday sees increasing high clouds, like nature’s version of soft-focus romance. Sunday will be mainly clear, keeping the vibes bright. But by Monday, things take a dramatic turn—partly cloudy at first, then becoming mostly cloudy with local showers and possibly even a bit of thunder. A little stormy passion to start the new week!

Snow update: At the time of writing, Troodos Square boasts 10 cm of snow, while Chionistra has 20 cm—so if you’re looking for a winter wonderland Valentine’s, there’s still some love left in the snow-capped peaks.

Whatever your plans, whether it’s chocolates, flowers, or just enjoying the fresh February air, stay warm and have a Happy Valentine’s Day!
