A Lufthansa flight from Munich to Tel Aviv made an unexpected landing in Larnaca, Cyprus, according to Israeli media.
Israel's Channel 12 reported that the crew was unprepared to proceed to Israel. Initially, the airline informed passengers that the plane would land in Cyprus for "technical reasons" and would later determine whether to continue to Tel Aviv.
After some time on the ground, it was announced that the aircraft would return to Germany. Passengers were given the option to disembark in Cyprus, but their luggage would remain on board and be taken back to Germany.
Lufthansa told Channel 12 that the diversion to Cyprus was due to "precautionary security measures".
