Man in critical condition after bicycle accident

Cyclist ejected from his seat when struck by a car Tuesday night in Nicosia

A 24-year-old cyclist is in the Intensive Care Unit following a road accident on Tuesday in Nicosia.

According to police, a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old male around 11:30pm struck the 24-year-old who was riding a bicycle, causing him serious injuries.

The incident took place on Griva Digeni Avenue but no further details were provided regarding the circumstances. Media reports said the cyclist was ejected from his seat and landed on the asphalt as a result of the collision.

The injured man was transported to Nicosia General Hospital and was admitted into the ICU due to his critical condition.

No arrests have been made as of Wednesday morning.
