One dead, one injured as quad bike overturns on a Xylotymbou main road Friday morning

A 25-year-old man was killed and another injured Friday morning in a road accident in Xylotymbou, when their vehicle was involved in a rollover.

According to police, 25-year-old Yiorgos Constantinou from Xylotymbou and another 31-year-old male were riding in a lightweight vehicle, described as a buggy, on a main road in Xylotymbou when the quad bike overturned under circumstances that are still under investigation.

An ambulance rushed both males to the Emergency Room at Larnaca General Hospital, where doctors pronounced Constantinou dead on arrival. The 31-year-old, who only sustained injuries, was treated and later released.

An autopsy is expected reveal the exact cause of death while an investigation is ongoing to determine what caused the accident. Media sources the quad bike was near a roundabout when it overturned.
