A food delivery worker in the Limassol district reported that he was assaulted late last night by a group of masked individuals armed with sticks, and in at least one individual with a knife. Police are treating the incident as a robbery and have launched an investigation.

The 24-year-old driver had just completed a delivery around 10:45 p.m. and was heading back to his base when several hooded attackers allegedly confronted him. According to his statement, one of them pushed him, causing him to fall from his motorcycle, after which he was struck on the arm. He did not sustain any injuries.

Fearing for his safety, the driver left his motorcycle behind and ran from the scene. He eventually managed to stop a passerby, who contacted the Police on his behalf.

Officers who arrived shortly afterward located both the complainant and his damaged motorcycle. A check revealed that the motorcycle keys and the driver’s phone had been stolen. The assailants had already fled the area by the time authorities reached the scene.

The Episkopi Police Station is continuing its inquiries into the case.
