Monday blues with a side of sunshine!

After a rainy weekend, Cyprus sees mostly sunny skies today, with a few clouds still clinging to spring. Warmer days are on the horizon, whether we’re ready or not.

Newsroom

Welcome to Monday, because weekends can’t last forever, and apparently, neither can spring.

After a weekend of scattered rain reminding us that Cyprus does still have seasons, rumors are swirling like the winds: summer may finally be knocking. Whether that’s a cause for celebration or just a prelude to sweating through your car seat, we’ll let you decide.

Today, we’re serving up mainly clear skies, with a chance of lunchtime drama, local clouds may crash the party, especially over the mountains and in the south, and they might even bring a quick sprinkle. Consider it nature’s way of easing us into the workweek.

Winds will play tag between southwest and northwest, starting off easy at 3 to 4 Beaufort, then picking up the pace to 4 to 5 as the day goes on. The sea will get a bit feisty too, becoming a little rough, so maybe skip the paddleboard yoga.

Temperature-wise, it’s a mixed bag: 27°C inland (borderline short-sleeve weather), 25°C along the coast (perfect for lunch outdoors if your boss allows it), and a cool 18°C up in the mountains (still sweater-friendly).

Tonight, expect mostly clear skies with the occasional cloud poking its nose in, nothing major. Winds will calm down to a gentle 3 Beaufort, and temperatures will dip: 11°C inland, 14°C by the coast, and a crisp 8°C in the mountains. Hot tea recommended.

Looking ahead: Tuesday might throw in some extra clouds just to keep us guessing. But by Wednesday and Thursday, the skies plan to behave, clear and sunny, with temps rising above average. In other words, summer’s trying to move in early… and it’s not asking for permission.

Happy Monday—and may your coffee be stronger than your post-weekend regrets.
