Monday forecast: Temperatures stay mild despite the atmospheric mood swings

Low pressure brings clouds, isolated storms, and even snow on the mountain tops.

Newsroom

Low pressure has taken over the controls, and to keep things interesting, a light veil of dust will occasionally be floating around the atmosphere. Because why not.

Today: Expect a mix of sun and clouds, with isolated showers popping up, and possibly even a thunderstorm, mainly during the afternoon, when the weather usually decides to show off. Up in the higher mountains, things stay wintry, with snow or sleet still in the running. Winds will blow from the northeast to southeast, light to locally moderate at 3-4 Beaufort, while the sea stays slightly rough, occasionally flirting with rougher conditions. Temperatures climb to around 18°C inland, 20°C along the coasts, and about 10°C in the mountains.

Tonight: Clouds take the night shift, with local showers and the odd isolated thunderstorm continuing the spectacle. Snow or sleet may still fall in the higher mountains. Winds keep the same general direction and strength, and the sea settles back to slightly rough.

Tuesday (tomorrow): Partly cloudy skies return, along with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms at times. Mountain areas remain on snow-or-sleet watch, just in case.

Wednesday & Thursday: More of the same; partly cloudy, with isolated showers mainly focused on the mountains, which seem determined to stay involved in the forecast.

Temperature Outlook: Not much change through the next three days. Temperatures remain steady and slightly above the seasonal average. Thank goodness for small mercies.
