Police investigators from the CID are closely examining closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage related to a shooting incident that occurred in the early hours of Monday morning at a Bank of Cyprus branch on Agia Fylaxeos Street.
According to police sources, the incident occurred at approximately 3:30 AM. CCTV footage captured a dark-colored saloon car passing in front of the bank at that time, though it remains unclear whether a second individual was inside the vehicle.
The assailant or assailants, armed with an automatic firearm, discharged more than 30 rounds into the bank's glass display cases. The exact number of bullets cannot be determined as some may have ricocheted, hitting other points within the premises.
The motives behind the attack remain unknown, and investigations are ongoing to identify those involved in the case. Police are diligently reviewing CCTV evidence to gather crucial information.
