Cancer patients in Larnaca and Famagusta will soon have access to state-of-the-art oncology care right in their own region. The Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre has announced the creation of a new, fully equipped oncology unit in Larnaca, set to open its doors in the summer of 2026.

Located on Papanikoli Street near the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium, the new facility, the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, Larnaca–Famagusta, marks a major milestone in expanding cancer care services on the island.

According to the Centre, the project aims to make treatment more accessible to patients who currently travel long distances to Nicosia for chemotherapy or radiotherapy. The Larnaca–Famagusta branch will be part of the organization’s broader expansion plan to offer modern, comprehensive cancer care to more communities across Cyprus.

The center will provide medical oncology services such as chemotherapy and hormone therapy, as well as radiation therapy using a state-of-the-art linear accelerator. It will be staffed by the experienced medical team of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, with specialist doctors making regular visits to Larnaca to ensure continuity and quality of care.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Christos M. Triantafyllides, said the new center reflects a shared commitment by the Republic of Cyprus and the Bank of Cyprus to strengthen cancer services nationwide.

“Together with our founders and private donors, we’re bringing the ‘Beacon of Hope’, the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, closer to patients and their families,” Triantafyllides said. “We’re ensuring that quality cancer care is available not only in the capital but closer to home.”

Once complete, the new oncology center will extend the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre’s reach and reinforce its mission to deliver comprehensive, innovative, and compassionate care to all cancer patients in Cyprus.
