A newborn kitten was rescued from a road in Dali on Sunday as crews responded to problems caused by heavy rainfall in the area.
Three rapid-response crews from the Nicosia District Local Government Organisation (EOA Nicosia) were deployed during the downpour to clear blocked drainage grates and deal with issues affecting the stormwater drainage system.
While carrying out the work, one of the crews spotted the tiny kitten lying on the road and rescued it.

An EOA colleague who has a nursing cat took the kitten into their care, allowing it to receive milk and giving it a chance to survive.
The rescue took place as crews were dealing with the effects of the intense rainfall, turning an emergency response into an unexpected effort to save a vulnerable animal.
