The press release noted that "Local Green Agreements will help Nicosia and other cities that have joined the initiative to strengthen the European Green Deal".

It is also said that "Local Green Agreements focus on many key areas such as Energy, mobility and transport, built environment and construction, tourism and culture and creative sectors".

According to the press release, "using the methodology developed by the European Commission, the experience of other cities, in collaboration with specialist consultants and with all the local bodies involved such as the Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, academic and research institutions and other agencies, the city's green and digital transition will be strengthened."

Cities participating in the ICC will be supported to develop or renew strategies and action plans to address sustainable development goals and will be pioneers in the twin transition, the press release concluded.
