If you like your morning coffee with a little extra protein, one vending machine at Nicosia General Hospital may have had you covered.
A hospital visitor was left rather surprised after buying a coffee from a machine outside the Emergency Department and discovering that the drink came with a generous helping of ants.
The incident was reported to 24news after the person, who was accompanying a patient, purchased the coffee from the machine located near the area where ambulances park.
Instead of finding the usual coffee, milk and sugar, the customer reportedly found a large number of ants floating around in the drink.
And no, they were not chocolate-covered.
For anyone who has ever complained that coffee was too smooth, this may have been the solution. A little tickle in the throat, quite literally.
The vending machines are located in an outdoor area that reportedly has no lighting, raising the obvious question of how the ants managed to make themselves such comfortable guests.
For the unfortunate coffee drinker, however, the recipe was probably one ingredient too adventurous.
