The grand opening of a new shopping centre on the west side of Nicosia appears to be on schedule, with Nicosia Mall working behind the scenes and paving roads to welcome shoppers around mid November.
Nicosia Mall chairman Marios Kalochoritis has dismissed rumours that construction work on the new shopping centre has fallen behind schedule, telling InBusinessNews this week that the project will be ready on time and most of the shops in the lineup will start operating by the middle of next month.
Deals have been made on all 150 shops that will be hosted on the premises, with most of them expected to be in full operation on day one. According to Kathimerini Cyprus, brand names include Zara, Zara Home, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Pull and Bear as well as Oysho.
Some of the final projects also include paving access roads to the shopping centre, which will be linked to the road network with multiple entrances and exits
The calling card of the Nicosia Mall, according to the management, will be its different architecture and spatial arrangement, with sections organised by brand origins, with 70 stores on the ground floor, 60 on the first floor, and 20 at the food court. A number of kiosks and smaller shops will be housed on the underground level.
Shoppers will also have a chance to enjoy an outdoor court and an elevated park on the premises of the 82,000 square metre development, with 1700 parking spaces.
The number of workers has reached a record number for Cypriot standards, nearly doubling since last month with 800 people currently on site compared to 455 back in late September. Some of the final projects also include paving access roads to the shopping centre, which will be linked to the road network with multiple entrances and exits.
The ambitious project is expected to be a game changer for Nicosia.
