Nicosia police are investigating an explosion incident in midtown area, with reports saying a hand grenade was thrown into the building of an insurance company.
According to local media, an explosion was heard Friday early morning, just before 6am, with police rushing to the scene to find an explosion had taken place inside the building that houses Anytime Insurance.
Members of the Bomb Squad were also at the scene, on Griva Digeni Avenue in the Ayioi Omologoties borough, along with crime investigators who were looking for security camera footage that may be relevant to the case.
Police said nothing had been ruled out, with additional reports saying a glass window had been shuttered and a hand grenade thrown inside the building.
No information about motives was immediately known in the attack against Anytime, a Greek insurance company selling coverage by Interamerican.
