A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attempted murder case involving a 19-year-old in Larnaca, stemming from an incident that took place last Sunday.
According to police, both individuals were at the same seaside nightclub when the situation escalated. They were not acquainted, and initial indications suggest that a minor collision in the crowded venue led to a verbal confrontation. The dispute quickly turned physical, with the younger man being struck in the face.
Shortly afterward, as the victim was making his way back to his table, he felt a burning sensation on the right side of his back and realized he was bleeding. Friends rushed him to the hospital, where doctors identified a serious injury: a three-centimeter wound near the right kidney, along with a rupture believed to have been caused by a sharp object.
Authorities had been searching for the suspect following the incident and have now taken him into custody. He is expected to appear before the Larnaca District Court, where police will seek a detention order as the investigation continues.
