Cyprus’ Deputy Ministry of Shipping has confirmed that 19 Cyprus-flagged vessels are currently operating in the Persian Gulf and that no safety issues have been reported involving either the ships or their crews.
In a written update, the ministry said it has been tracking developments in the region from the outset and remains in regular communication with the companies managing the affected vessels. According to the statement, most of the ships maintain a continuous presence in the Gulf, where they primarily carry out specialized or support maritime services.
Officials also reminded stakeholders that on February 28 the ministry circulated guidance outlining precautionary measures aimed at protecting vessels and seafarers operating in the area.
The Deputy Ministry stressed that safeguarding maritime operations and human life at sea remains its foremost concern and said it continues to monitor the situation around the clock.
