More than 300 traffic violations were recorded in a single night as police carried out coordinated patrols across urban areas on Sunday, highlighting ongoing concerns over road behavior and public safety.

In total, officers issued 301 fines, with speeding once again leading the list at 166 cases. Four drivers were reported for driving under the influence following 79 alcohol tests, while 14 additional traffic cases are under investigation. Seven vehicles were also seized.

The large-scale operation went beyond traffic checks. Police stopped 492 vehicles and inspected 689 people, alongside 33 checks on premises, which resulted in nine complaints.

Three individuals were arrested during the sweep, facing charges that include impersonation, drug possession, driving a stolen vehicle, and drink-driving.

The patrols form part of ongoing efforts to prevent crime and increase police presence in key areas. Authorities say such operations will continue on a daily basis, aiming to maintain order and boost the public’s sense of security, even if the numbers suggest there’s still work to be done.
