Student at Paphos vocational school injured after falling through open hatch

A high school student in Paphos was rushed to the Emergency Room on Thursday after he fell through a trap door on school premises.

According to the Cyprus News Agency, a 16-year-old student who attends the Paphos Technical School, was injured while playing football in the school yard.

Unconfirmed reports in the local media said the boy sustained a head injury after falling from a height of two metres

According to preliminary information, the student was playing football in the yard of the state vocational school on Friday morning, around 10:30am, when he fell through an open hatch on the ground.

An ambulance rushed the student to the ER at Paphos General Hospital, while no reports on his condition were immediately available.

Unconfirmed reports in the local media said the boy sustained a head injury after falling from a height of two metres during gym class.

Officials said they were investigating the incident.
