Police Seize 16 kilos of Cannabis in Paphos

European travelers caught smuggling large Marijuana quantity


The Police, in collaboration with the Customs Department, carried out a new seizure of a large quantity of cannabis yesterday.

Sixteen kilograms of cannabis were located and confiscated, and as part of the investigation, two men aged 55 and 38 were arrested.

A large quantity of drugs was discovered in the luggage of the aforementioned individuals, who arrived yesterday afternoon at Paphos Airport from another European country.

During an inspection of their luggage, sixteen nylon packages were found, containing approximately 16 kilograms and 287 grams of cannabis.

The two men were initially arrested for committing offenses in flagrante delicto and subsequently detained based on judicial warrants to facilitate the investigations.

The Drug Law Enforcement Unit continues with the examinations.
