Police have issued a warning to drivers after icy conditions made several mountain roads leading to Troodos extremely dangerous on Tuesday evening.
According to authorities, freezing temperatures have caused widespread ice to form on the road network, resulting in multiple vehicles becoming stranded. Several cars were left immobilized along the Platres–Troodos route, where efforts are ongoing to clear the road and assist motorists.
Additional concerns were reported on the Prodromos–Troodos road, where rockfalls have been observed, further increasing the risk for drivers.
Police are urging motorists to exercise caution, avoid unnecessary travel in the area, and follow official updates as conditions continue to be monitored.
