Several neighborhoods in Nicosia and Limassol are experiencing temporary power outages.
In Nicosia, the districts of Pallouriotissa and Aglantzia are without electricity, with supply expected to return around 12:00 noon.
Meanwhile, a fault has left part of Pissouri in Limassol without power. Authorities say electricity should be restored by approximately 11:00 a.m.
The Cyprus Electricity Authority (EAC) is working to fix the issues as quickly as possible and advises residents to exercise caution with any backup generators or electrical equipment.
Power outage tips:
- Avoid opening refrigerators or freezers frequently to keep food cold.
- Unplug sensitive electronics to prevent damage from sudden surges when power returns.
- Use flashlights instead of candles to reduce fire risk.
- If using generators, ensure proper ventilation to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.
- Residents are advised to remain patient and follow safety precautions until electricity is fully restored.
