President Anastasiades travels to Brussels ahead of European Council

Anastasiades is expected to brief EU leaders about Turkey's actions in Varosha and in the Cyprus EEZ

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades departs on Wednesday for Brussels, to participate in a European Council Summit that will take place on December 10-11, with EU-Turkey relations among the issues to be discussed.
 
According to a presidency press release, during the Summit, the President of the Republic is expected to brief EU leaders about Turkey's actions in Varosha and in the Cyprus EEZ.
 
Among the topics to be addressed at the Summit are efforts to tackle the coronavirus pandemic, Climate Change, Security, EU External Relations, Southern Neighbourhood and issues related to EU relations with Turkey.
 
President Anastasiades, who will be accompanied by Government Spokesman Kyriacos Koushos, will return to Cyprus on the evening of December 11th.
