A fire erupted on the night of the third at around 21:30, engulfing a car owned by a 50-year-old Public Prosecutor from the Paphos District Court, as reported by Assistant Police Director Michael Nicolaou. The incident took place in the parking area of the prosecutor's Paphos residence.

Firefighters swiftly tackled the blaze, but the vehicle was left in ruins, with two neighboring cars suffering extensive damage. The crime scene, now under police guard, awaits further investigation during daylight hours.

Initial observations suggest malicious intent behind the fire, according to Nicolaou. Police spokesperson Christos Andreou confirmed a thorough examination of all possibilities. Notably, the prosecutor's husband, heading the Paphos YKAN, adds complexity to the ongoing investigation.

Trito news revealed that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is focusing on potential connections to cases handled by both the public prosecutor and her husband.

This incident marks the second attack on a public prosecutor in Paphos, following a similar act last December involving an explosive device placed in another prosecutor's home. Authorities are diligently working to unravel the motives behind these targeted assaults.
