A new mobile app, SafeCY, is now available to help residents locate the nearest Civil Defense shelter in real time.
SafeCY can be downloaded on Android devices via the Google Play Store and on iOS devices via the App Store. The app is offered in both Greek and English.
Users can search for nearby shelters based on their current location or by entering an address or postal code. The app also provides guidelines and important information to keep citizens informed.
Cyprus currently has about 2,200 Civil Defense shelters, with enough capacity to accommodate up to 30% of the country’s population in an emergency.
The SafeCY app is free to download and aims to improve public safety by making shelter locations easily accessible.
