A serious road accident occurred on Monday afternoon in the area of Yalousa (known locally as Yenierenkoy), located in the Karpasia peninsula, when a school bus overturned, resulting in injuries to the driver and ten students on board.

The incident took place around 1:00 PM on a secondary road near the local high school. Initial reports indicate that the vehicle, a school bus bearing the registration number TET 123 and driven by a 32-year-old man, veered off the road while travelling along the Yalousa–Rizokarpaso (Dipkarpaz) route and overturned under circumstances that are still being investigated.

Emergency teams responded quickly to the scene. The injured individuals were transported by ambulance to the hospital in the occupied town of Famagusta for treatment. Some of the injured reportedly remain under medical care, with the possibility of further transfers depending on their condition.

Authorities in the area have launched an investigation to determine the exact causes of the accident.
