Seven new coronavirus cases were confirmed late on Friday night, raising the total figure to 26 across the divide.
The Health Minsitry received confirmation on Friday night by the Institute of Neurology and Genetics that samples taken from seven suspected cases had tested positive for the virus.
With the seven new cases, a sum of 11 people tested positive in the Republic of Cyprus territories on Friday bringing the total to 21, while cases in the north rose to five.
The seven new cases involve five people that had close contact with two other persons who were confirmed as coronavirus carriers in recent says. They had been checked after being identified as contacts of the confirmed cases, and remain in self-isolation in their homes.
The sixth new case involves a person that was admitted for treatment at the Limassol General Hospital.
The final new case involves a person who had recently travelled to the UK and who had contacted the health authorities after symptoms emerged.
