Heavy rain and hailstorms wreaked havoc across several occupied villages in Karpasia, causing significant damage to homes, outbuildings, and paddocks in Yialousa, Agios Andronicos, Agia Triada, and Melanagra.
According to reports from the occupied territories, intense rainfall led to road closures, while floodwaters entered homes, forcing residents to deal with unexpected damage. Some car garages collapsed under the pressure of the severe weather, adding to the destruction.
The "chairman" of the "emergency disaster response committee" under the "prime ministry," Hussein Jianitoglu, stated that teams have begun assessing the extent of the damage in the affected areas. Meanwhile, the "prefect's" office reported that the "municipality," "police," and "civil defense" units are actively working on recovery efforts.
Residents shared images of the aftermath, showing flooded streets, battered properties, and the heavy hail that contributed to the destruction. Authorities in the occupied areas have yet to provide an official estimate of the damage, but local reports indicate that the impact has been widespread.
Efforts to clear the roads and provide assistance to affected residents are ongoing, as authorities work to mitigate further risks from the unstable weather conditions
