Sovereign Base Areas (SBA) Police have released a stepmother without conditions following her arrest in connection with the deaths of two children in Xylofagou. She was freed on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the children's father remains under investigation. Authorities scheduled his court appearance for July 2 at noon at the SBA Court in Dhekelia.
Police officials stated that the inquiry into the double tragedy is still active. Because the investigation is in its early stages, law enforcement has declined to provide specifics regarding how the children died. Officials also noted that they cannot yet release information about when the children's bodies will be returned to the family or when the funerals will take place. The SBA Police maintained that they will share updates only when the ongoing investigation allows.
