The low-pressure system ''Bora'' made its way to Cyprus today, bringing widespread cloud cover, rain in several areas, and a noticeable drop in temperatures. Although not as severe as its impact on Greece, the storm has already left its mark across the island.
Rainfall was reported in many areas, with Paphos and Limassol seeing heavy downpours earlier in the day, followed by Larnaca. According to meteorologists, the rain is expected to intensify later this afternoon and evening, with possible thunderstorms and even hail in some areas.
Drivers on the Limassol-Paphos highway faced particularly challenging conditions, with torrential rains leading to extremely limited visibility. Rock and soil slides were also reported near the Pissouri exit. Authorities have urged drivers to proceed with caution, reduce speeds, maintain safe distances from other vehicles, and keep headlights on to ensure visibility.
Stay tuned for updates as "Bora" continues to affect the island, and take precautions if you're heading out.
