A yellow storm warning has been issued for today, with conditions expected to deteriorate throughout the day. The low-pressure system "BORA," currently centered over the Carpathian Sea, is moving eastward and will affect the region between 06:00 am and 18:00 pm.
Expect isolated strong thunderstorms throughout the day, with rainfall intensity reaching 35 to 55 mm per hour in some areas. Hail is likely in the storms, and strong wind gusts are anticipated. Winds will initially be light to moderate (3 to 4 Beaufort) but will pick up, with strong gusts reaching up to 5 Beaufort in some places. The sea will remain slightly choppy, becoming choppy later in the day.
Temperatures will reach around 17°C inland and along the coast, while the higher mountains will see temperatures around 8°C.
Tonight, the unsettled weather will continue, with localized showers and thunderstorms. Hail is expected, especially in the storms. Snow or sleet may fall in higher elevations. Winds will remain light to moderate (3 to 4 Beaufort), with occasional stronger gusts offshore (4 to 5 Beaufort). The sea will be slightly rough to choppy. Temperatures will drop to 11°C inland, 13°C along the coast, and around 5°C in the mountains.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, the stormy conditions will persist through the morning, with thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds likely. However, by the afternoon, the weather will begin to improve as the storm weakens.
For Thursday and Friday, expect partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies with isolated showers and the possibility of a thunderstorm. Temperatures will remain slightly below normal until Friday when they will rise to near seasonal averages.
Please stay alert and take necessary precautions, as the storm may be intense in places.
