A 21-year-old mother in Paphos found herself in an impossible situation, struggling to care for her two young children, aged three years and 11 months. With no resources and no immediate help from official channels, Kyriaki turned to the community and found an outpouring of support.
People she had never met rushed to help, bringing diapers, milk, and other essentials for the children. One kind stranger, learning it was Kyriaki’s birthday, added a cake and a cross to the generous gifts.
The young mother, deeply moved by the response, shared a heartfelt public thank-you in a video posted on Helen Christou’s Facebook page, expressing her gratitude to the strangers who stepped in when official help had fallen short.
Kyriaki’s story highlights both the struggles faced by some young families in Cyprus and the power of ordinary people to make a real difference in someone’s life.
