Summer settles in and makes itself comfortable

Temperatures hold at 37°C inland as sunny conditions continue across Cyprus.

Newsroom

If the weather forecast feels familiar, that's because Cyprus has entered that stage of summer where the atmosphere has found a routine and sees little reason to change it.

Today's weather will begin mostly clear across the island, with sunshine doing the heavy lifting for much of the day. By the afternoon, clouds are expected to gather over the mountains, where an isolated shower may develop, although most areas are likely to remain dry.

Winds will strengthen as the day progresses, particularly along coastal areas, while the sea will range from slight to a little rough.

Temperatures will once again climb to around 37°C inland, 33°C along the south, east and north coasts, 29°C on the west coast and 26°C in the higher mountains.

Tonight will remain mainly clear, with little change in conditions. Light to moderate winds will continue, while the sea stays slight to a little rough.

Looking ahead, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday promise more of the same: mainly clear skies, a few afternoon clouds and no major surprises.

Temperatures are expected to remain steady through the end of the working week, continuing slightly above the seasonal average. In other words, Cyprus has reached the point in summer where weather reports become less about forecasting and more about confirming that, yes, it is still sunny.
